WHAT TO AVOID:

  • Do not send your resume if you will not attach a cover letter.
  • Do not duplicate the information of your resume; write your most relevant skills that match most with the job, instead.
  • Do not try to copy it from a friend or relative; remember each cover letter is original.
  • Do not extend your writing, just few paragraphs are enough. However, if you have done bigger research, you could write it longer.
  • Ensure you are not appearing too aggressive or humorous.
  • Avoid errors in your cover letter by reading and over reading it.
  • Do not try to impress your readers; just write to communicate with them.
  • Do not turn over your writing; get to the point.
  • Do not write either meaningless, clichés, or wordy expressions.
  • Do not be shy, and ask questions.
