Scannable resume



This type of resume is also known as Electronic Resumes. They are mainly used to be in direct contact eye with the employers. Despite most applicants rather to send it as an attachment in the e-mail, it would be better to send in the body of the e-mail. In addition, nowadays scannable resumes are increasingly being used by employers and companies because they registered it in a database of electronic resumes; apart of the printed resume version.


Content:
  • Personal Information.
  • Objective.
  • Summary of Qualifications.
  • Work History.
  • Education.
  • Accomplishments, skills, strengths, etc. (optional)
  • Professional Affiliations and others. (optional)
  • Honours, publications, papers, licenses, certifications, examinations, references, etc. (optional)

Used when:
  • Post the resume online.
  • Requested by the employers to send it for an e-mailed resume.
  • An extra version of the resume.

Tips:
  • Use many and different keywords, including nouns and phrases.
  • Rather eligible and basic fonts like Sans-serif, Helvetica, Arial, etc.
  • Avoid including some format such as italic, underline, bullets, etc.
  • Do not use multiple columns, many lines or graphics.
  • Write and prepare it in a text based version, very simple.
  • Try not passing of 20 keywords from the job field and the job announcement.
